Paramount Vantage
Paramount Vantage (also known as Paramount Classics) was a film distribution label of Paramount Pictures (which, in turn, has Paramount Global as its parent company), charged with producing, purchasing, distributing and marketing films, generally those with a more " art house" feel than films made and distributed by its parent company. Previously, Paramount Vantage operated as the specialty film division of Paramount Pictures, owned by Viacom. History Paramount Classics was launched on May 15, 1998 and released such art house fare as '' The Virgin Suicides'', '' You Can Count on Me'', '' Sunshine'', '' Mostly Martha'', ''Winter Solstice'', and three Patrice Leconte films ('' Girl on the Bridge'', '' The Man on the Train'', '' Intimate Strangers''). ''Intimate Strangers'' (french: Confidences trop intimes) is a 2004 French film directed by Patrice Leconte. An off-beat romance, it tells the story of a troubled young woman who in error starts telling her problems not to a psychiatrist but to a lonely tax consultant in the office next door. Plot William, a reserved and solitary tax consultant in Paris, is surprised when a distressed young woman comes into his office and starts telling him her marital problems. ''The Adventures of Sebastian Cole'' is a 1998 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Tod Williams and starring Adrian Grenier as the title character. Plot In June 1983 in Dutchess County, New York, Sebastian Cole's stepmother, who formerly went by Hank and presented as male, outs herself and announces that she is having a sex change operation. Sebastian's sister, Jessica, leaves immediately for California, and his mother, Joan, takes him back to England. ''Cabaret Balkan'' is a 1998 Serbian film directed by Goran Paskaljević starring Miki Manojlović and Nebojša Glogovac. Its original Serbian language title is ''Буре барута'' (''Bure baruta'') which means ''Powder Keg''. It was released in English speaking countries under the title of ''Cabaret Balkan'', with the official reason for the name change being that Kevin Costner had already registered a film project under the title ''Powder Keg''.
