''Paradise Lost'' is the debut studio album that was written and produced by British drum and bass DJ duo Delta Heavy. It was originally scheduled to be released on 4 March 2016, but was pushed back to 18 March 2016. It was released through RAM Records and features the hit singles, "Ghost" and "Punish My Love". Delta Heavy (often stylised as DELTΔ HEΔVY) are an English drum and bass production duo consisting of Ben Hall and Simon James. They found fame with their 2012 single "Get By", which entered the UK Indie Chart at number 30. The duo's debut album, ''Paradise Lost'', was released on 18 March 2016 through RAM Records. Career history 2010–2014: Early beginnings and commercial breakthrough Delta Heavy first signed to Viper Recordings in 2009, and provided the songs "Galaxy" and "Abort" for two of the label's compilations. They were picked up by the prestigious drum and bass label RAM Records in 2010, and released their first two singles, "Space Time" and "Overkill" with them. Drum and bass (also written as drum & bass or drum'n'bass and commonly abbreviated as D&B, DnB, or D'n'B) is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by fast breakbeats (typically 165–185 beats per minute) with heavy bass and sub-bass lines, samples, and synthesizers. The genre grew out of the UK's rave scene in the 1990s. The popularity of drum and bass at its commercial peak ran parallel to several other UK dance styles. A major influence was the original Jamaican dub and reggae sound that influenced jungle's bass-heavy sound. Another feature of the style is the complex syncopation of the drum tracks' breakbeat. Drum and bass subgenres include breakcore, ragga jungle, hardstep, darkstep, techstep, neurofunk, ambient drum and bass, liquid funk (a.k.a. liquid drum and bass), jump up, drumfunk, sambass, and drill 'n' bass. RAM Records
RAM Records is an independent record label established in 1992 by Andy C with the help of his friend Ant Miles. It specialises in drum and bass. The label and business is run by Andy C and business partner Scott Bourne (Red One). Ram Records is known for its label activities, the music it releases, and the artists it has signed over the years. Moving Fusion's Turbulence was instrumental in moving RAM forward in the early 2000s and was the number one voted-for track in drum and bass at the Mercury Music Prize in 2000. As well as Ram's musical output, the label is also known for its club nights, the most famous of which started at the London nightclub 'The End', and lasted 11 years until the club's closure in December 2008. Moving on from The End to super-club Matter in February 2009, Ram's attendees tripled from 1000 to over 3000 people within 2 months and lasted until Matter's closure in June 2010. ''Only in Dreams'' is the second studio album by English drum and bass production duo Delta Heavy. Drum and bass record label RAM Records released the album on 22 March 2019. Background ''Only in Dreams'' was announced in January 2019. To promote the album, the duo released "Take Me Home" featuring English singer Jem Cooke in February. In an interview with '' Dancing Astronaut'', the duo cited the song as one of their favourites from the album, reasoning that it allowed them to represent the variety in their sound. To further promote the album, Delta Heavy announced a world tour, which began on 1 February and concluded on 15 June. In an interview with EDMIdentity, Simon Hall described that despite the lack of a concrete concept for the album, he and Ben James came up with the title independently and that it was relatable.
