"Papua New Guinea" is a single by the British electronic music group the Future Sound of London. It was released in November 1991 through the label Jumpin' & Pumpin' and is included on the group's debut album, '' Accelerator'', released the following year. The single entered the 's Dance Singles Chart at No.42 in December 1991, and reached number 22 on the UK Singles Chart when rereleased in mid-1992. Development Background Garry Cobain described himself as being "bit of an indie kid" in the mid 1980s, being a fan of the Manchester-based Factory Records acts such as Joy Division. ''Songs from the Cool World'' is the soundtrack album for the 1992 Ralph Bakshi film ''Cool World'' and features songs from David Bowie, Thompson Twins, Moby, and other dance and rock artists from the time. Records reissued the album as a double-LP set on vinyl containing the complete 15-song track list, in standard black and "flesh colored" editions. ''Within the Realm of a Dying Sun'' is the third studio album by Australian band Dead Can Dance. It was released on 27 July 1987 by 4AD. Background By this time, Dead Can Dance were predominantly a duo of Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry, along with Peter Ulrich, after the departure of Scott Rodger and James Pinker in 1987. On the sound of the album, the group commented, "We realised we had been limiting our musical visions [before], relying around guitar, bass and drums. These instruments weren't adequate to express a lot of the things we were hearing". In the modern music industry, a mixtape is a musical project, typically with looser constraints than that of an album or extended play. Unlike the traditional album or extended play, mixtapes are labeled as laid-back projects that allow artists more creative freedom and less commercial pressure. Dead Can Dance are a British-Australian band founded in Melbourne in 1981 by Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard, before relocating to London the following year. Lisa Germaine Gerrard ( ; born 12 April 1961) is an Australian musician, singer and composer and member of the group Dead Can Dance with music partner Brendan Perry. She is known for her unique singing style technique (glossolalia). She has a dramatic contralto voice and has a vocal range of three octaves. Born and raised in Melbourne, Gerrard played a pivotal role in the city's Little Band scene and fronted post-punk group Microfilm before co-founding Dead Can Dance in 1981. With Perry, she explored numerous traditional and modern styles, laying the foundations for what became known as neoclassical dark wave. She sings sometimes in English and often in a unique language that she invented.
