Panelefsiniakos F.C. ( el, Πανελευσινιακός Α.Ο.), the ''Panelefsiniakos Athletic Club'', is a association football, football club based in the city of Eleusis, Elefsina, Greece. The club currently competes in Football League (Greece), Football League. The team was formed in 1931. History Panelefsiniakos was formed in 1931. The club has played in the top level of Greek football, the Alpha Ethniki, three times (Alpha Ethniki 1961-62, 1962, Alpha Ethniki 1967-68, 1968 and Alpha Ethniki 1998-99, 1999), but was relegated after each season. The club has also played in the second level, Beta Ethniki, for 25 seasons. After a series of relegations, the club has played for many years in the local West Attica championships. In 2013, the team promoted in the Gamma Ethniki, Football League 2 after 11 years. The Gamma Ethniki ( el, Γ΄ Εθνική Ερασιτεχνική Κατηγορία, C National Amateur Division) is the third highest football league in Greece. History The Gamma Ethniki began in 1965 as an amateur championship, while in 1983 it was changed to professional. Although not literally national (it is divided into ''North'' and ''South'' groups), Football League 2 is considered as a national division. On 3 August 2010, it was announced that the division had been renamed ''Football League 2''. From season 2013–14, the football League 2 is merged by fourth division championship (Delta Ethniki) and renamed again Gamma Ethniki. Oleh Valeriyovych Protasov ( uk, Олег Валерійович Протасов; born 4 February 1964) is a Ukrainian and Soviet former footballer who played as a striker. He was a key member of the Soviet Union national team throughout the 1980s; his 28 goals for the Soviet Union are second in the team's history, behind Oleh Blokhin's 42.
