Christian Pander (born 28 August 1983 in Münster) is a German footballer who plays as a left back. He is currently a free agent, having most recently served Hannover 96 of the Bundesliga. He is known for his powerful left-foot free-kicks and willingness to burst up the left wing. Club career FC Schalke 04 Pander spent his youth career at SC Nienberge, 1. FC Gievenbeck, SC Greven 09 and Preußen Münster before becoming a product of the Schalke 04 youth system. Heinz Christian Pander
Heinz Christian Pander, also Christian Heinrich Pander ( – ), was a Russian Empire ethnic Baltic German biologist and embryologist. Biography In 1817 he received his doctorate from the University of Würzburg, and spent several years (1827–1842), performing scientific research from his estate in Carnikava (german: Zarnikau) on the banks of the Gauja River near Riga. In 1820 he took part in a scientific expedition to Bokhara as a naturalist. In 1826 he became a member of the Saint Petersburg Academy of Sciences. Research Pander studied the chick embryo and discovered the germ layers (i.e., three distinct regions of the embryo that give rise to the specific organ system). Because of these findings, he is considered by many to be the "founder of embryology". His work in embryology was continued by Karl Ernst von Baer (1792-1876), who expanded Pander's concept of germ layers to include all vertebrates. Pier Pander
Jacobs Pier Pander (20 June 1864 – 6 September 1919) was a Dutch sculptor and designer of medals. Pander was born in Drachten in the Dutch northern province of Friesland. He was the son of a poor boatman. At a young age, his talent for woodcarving was recognised. Wealthy patrons enabled him to study at the Kunstnijverheidsschool Quellinus in Amsterdam (an art school) and later at the Académie des Beaux Arts in Paris. In 1885 Pander won the Dutch Prix de Rome for sculpture, but a serious illness disabled him. He moved to Rome in 1893, where he set up a studio. He frequently travelled to the Netherlands where he became famous for his design of the portrait of Queen Wilhelmina for a Dutch coin in 1898. Pander was friends with the Dutch writer Louis Couperus, who lived in Nice and Rome between 1900 and 1915. He eventually died in Rome from the effects of tuberculosis. Jacob Pander (born January 26, 1965) and Arnold Pander (born June 16, 1967), known commercially as The Pander Brothers, are American comic book creators, artists, and filmmakers. They are best known for their work on the comics titles Grendel: Devil's Legacy, Batman: City of Light, The Batman Chronicles, and Girlfiend. Procuring or pandering is the facilitation or provision of a prostitute or other sex worker in the arrangement of a sex act with a customer. A procurer, colloquially called a pimp (if male) or a madam (if female, though the term pimp has still extensively been used for female procurers as well) or a brothel keeper, is an agent for prostitutes who collects part of their earnings. Pander & Son was a Dutch aircraft company based in The Hague, founded by Harmen Pander and his son Henk Pander. History Harmen Pander was the managing director of a furniture company which in 1924 bought the assets of the bankrupt ''Vliegtuig Industrie Holland'' (VIH) company, which included the services of designers Theodorus Egbert Slot and H. Van der Kwast. Pander set up the ''Nederlandse Fabriek van Vliegtuigen H. Pander & Zonen'' ("H. Pander and Son Dutch Aircraft Company") and began construction of an improved version of the VIH Holland H.2, renamed the Pander D. In 1929 the German sailplane builder Alexander Lippisch came to the Netherlands prompting Theo Slot to build the first Dutch glider in 1930. Pander Society
The Pander Society is an informal organisation founded in 1967 for the promotion of the study of conodont palaeontology. It publishes an annual newsletter. Although there are regular meetings of the Pander Society, at the Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America, at European Conodont Symposia (ECOS for short), and elsewhere, any meeting of three or more "Panderers" is considered an official meeting of the "Pander Society". The society is headed by the Chief Panderer, currently Maria Cristina Perri of the Università di Bologna. The society confers two awards, the Pander Medal for a lifetime of achievement in conodont palaeontology, and the Hinde Medal for an outstanding contribution to conodont palaeontology by a young Panderer. Heinz Christian Pander (1794–1865) is credited as the first scientist to describe primitive creatures known as conodonts.
