Panathlon International
Panathlon International (PI) is a global umbrella organisation of "Panathlon clubs", which are nonprofit non-governmental organisations promoting sports ethics and fair play and opposing discrimination and politicisation in sport. PI is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and is a member of the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP) and associate member of the Global Association of International Sports Federations. The name "Panathlon" is from Greek "all" + "sport". PI has more than 300 clubs in 30 countries in 4 continents, with a head office in Rapallo, Italy. As well as promotional work, PI and its members support research on topics concerning sport and its relations with society. Rapallo
Rapallo ( , , ) is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Genoa, located in the Liguria region of northern Italy. As of 2017 it had 29,778 inhabitants. It lies on the Ligurian Sea coast, on the Tigullio Gulf, between Portofino and Chiavari, 25 kilometers east-south east of Genoa itself. The climate is moderate. Many of the villas are built in the hills that rise immediately behind the city, protecting them from strong northern winds. The Parco Naturale Regionale di Portofino, encompassing the territory of six Ligurian communes, includes the Rapallo area. Antonio Spallino (1 April 1925 – 27 September 2017) was an Italian fencer. He won a gold, silver and bronze medal at two Olympic Games. Spallino was President of Panathlon International from 1988 to 1996.
