Panama competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the nation's eighteenth appearance at the Summer Olympics, since its debut in 1928 Summer Olympics, 1928. Gianna Ursula Woodruff Washington (born November 18, 1993) is a Panamanian track and field athlete specializing in the 400 metres hurdles. She represented her country at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics improving her own South American record with a time of 54.22 seconds in the semi-finals to finish 7th in the final. In 2017, Woodruff reached the semi-finals at the World Championships. Born in Santa Monica, California, she has a dual citizenship with the United States and Panama. Lauren Price
Lauren Louise Price (born 25 June 1994) is a Welsh amateur boxer, and former kickboxer and footballer. While representing Wales she won a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, becoming the first Welsh woman to win a Commonwealth Games boxing medal. Four years later she surpassed this achievement by winning gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, followed by a gold at the 2019 World Championships. While representing Great Britain, she won gold medals at the 2019 European Games and 2020 Summer Olympics. The women's middleweight boxing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place between 28 July and 8 August 2021 at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan. 17 boxers from 17 nations competed, Khadija El-Mardi from Morocco having withdrawn before the competition began.
