Pam Wolf
Pamela A. Wolf (née Mens; born November 26, 1963) is a Minnesota politician and a former member of the Minnesota Senate who represented District 51, which includes portions of Anoka, Hennepin and Ramsey counties in the northern Twin Cities metropolitan area. A Republican, she is a teacher and a golf instructor. Wolf was first elected in 2010. She was a member of the Education, the Local Government and Elections, and the Transportation committees. Her special legislative concerns were education, transportation, and taxes. Wolf lost her bid for re-election in 2012 and was defeated by DFLer Alice Johnson. Don Betzold
Donald Betzold (born August 27, 1950) is a Minnesota politician and a former member of the Minnesota Senate who represented District 51, which includes portions of Anoka, Hennepin and Ramsey counties in the northern Twin Cities metropolitan area. Prior to the 2002 redistricting, the area was known as District 48. A Democrat, he was first elected to the Senate in 1992, and was re-elected in 1996, 2000, 2002 and 2006. He was unseated by Republican Pam Wolf in the 2010 general election. Betzold was a member of the Senate's Finance Committee, the Judiciary Committee, and the State and Local Government Operations and Oversight Committee. New Brighton, Minnesota
New Brighton is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. It is a suburb of the Twin Cities. The population was 22,753 at the 2020 census. History In the mid 18th century, Mdewakanton Dakota tribes lived in the vicinity of New Brighton's marshy lakes, harvesting wild rice. The Dakota eventually settled a village near Long Lake at Rice Creek and a smaller encampment just east of Silver Lake Road on 3rd Street NW. Immigrants from Britain and France settled a small village in 1858 which included a general store, school and mission church. As railroads were established in the area, millers in Minneapolis formed the Minneapolis Stockyards and Packing Company in 1888. The company supplied home, agriculture, and business needs.
