Palézieux
Palézieux () is a village and former municipality in the district of Lavaux-Oron in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. Since 2012 it forms part of the municipality of Oron. History Palézieux is first mentioned in 1134 as ''de Palaisol''. Under the rule of Savoy, the family ''de Palézieux'' – mentioned in texts from 1154 – had their castle near the village, of which remains can be seen today (mainly a wall). The castle controlled a bridge on the River Broye, which was a source of profit through the various tolls and taxes. The bridge over the Broye was washed away in 1700, following a flood. It was rebuilt in 1750, following several petitions. Modernized, it is still in place. The creation of the separate settlement at Palézieux-Gare came about with the commissioning of the railway line between Lausanne and Bern in 1862, which was built away from the original village (which became known as Palézieux-Village). Palézieux Railway Station
Palézieux railway station serves the village of Palézieux, within the municipality of Oron, in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. The station is located at the junction of the standard gauge Lausanne–Bern and Palézieux–Lyss lines of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), from Lausanne. The station is also the terminus of the gauge Palézieux–Bulle–Montbovon line of Transports publics Fribourgeois. Palézieux's other station, , is located to the north on the Palézieux–Lyss line. The station has two parts, one for the national railways (SBB) and the other for the metre gauge line; it is the only station on the Transports publics Fribourgeois network which is in the canton of Vaud. There are three through-platforms on the SBB mainline, with further platforms at the adjacent metre gauge railway terminus. The station is staffed by SBB Monday to Friday. Moudon
Moudon (; la, Minnodunum; german: Milden) is a municipality in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. It was the seat of Moudon District and is now in the Broye-Vully district. History Montmagny was known as ''Minnodunum'' or ''Minnidunum'' during the Roman era. Payerne
Payerne (; frp, Payèrna) is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Vaud. It was the seat of the district of Payerne, and is now part of the district of Broye-Vully. The German name ''Peterlingen'' for the town is out of use. History The earliest traces of settlements near Payerne include Neolithic objects and traces of a Bronze Age settlement. There are also burial mounds from the Hallstatt and Latène cultures, including gold necklaces which were found at Le Bois de Roverex. There was a Celtic bridge and a Roman era road in the area of Les Aventuri. There were Roman buildings within and outside the city walls, Roman cemeteries, and a dedicatory inscription of Publius Graccius Paternus.
