Ann Paludan
Ann Elizabeth Paludan (née Murray) (1928–2014) was a British author of several books on Chinese history, sculpture and architecture. Biography Ann Paludan was the daughter of Basil Murray. Her father was the second son of the eminent classical scholar Gilbert Murray and his wife Lady Mary Howard, and Ann would visit her grandparents at Yatscombe, on Boars Hill, particularly during her undergraduate years in St Hugh's College, Oxford when she cycled up to Yatscombe every Sunday. Her parents had split up when she was young and her father died in Spain when she was eight, so her visits to her grandparents gave a welcome sense of continuity. On her mother's side she was the granddaughter of the painter Algernon Newton RA, of the family which founded the Winsor and Newton paints company, and a niece of the actor Robert Newton. Frederik Paludan-Müller
Frederik Paludan-Müller (7 February 1809 – 27 December 1876) was a Denmark, Danish poet, the third son of Jens Paludan-Müller and born in Kerteminde, on the island of Funen. In 1819 his father was transferred to Odense, and Frederik began to attend the Latin school there. In 1828 he passed to the University of Copenhagen. The poet lived a very retired life, first in Copenhagen, then for many years in a cottage on the outskirts of the royal park of Fredensborg, and finally in a house in Ny Adelgade, Copenhagen, where he died. Work In 1832 he opened his poetical career with ''Four Romances'', and a romantic comedy entitled ''Love at Court''. This enjoyed a considerable success, and was succeeded in 1833 by ''Dandserinden'' ("The Dancing Girl"). Paludan-Müller was accepted by criticism without a struggle, and few writers have excited less hostility. Hans Paludan Smith Schreuder (18 June 1817 - 27 June 1882) was a Norwegian missionary who developed close relationships with the Zulu and British authorities. Early life Hans Paludan Smith Schreuder was born in Sogndal in Sogn og Fjordane, Norway in 1817. As a theological student, he was very interested in missionary work, and wrote a treatise entitled ''A Few Words to the Church of Norway on Christian Obligation to be Concerned about the Salvation of Non-Christian Fellow Men''. Unlike other missionaries who describe their missionary work as a "calling", Schreuder saw it more as a "duty". Early missionary work In 1842 the Norwegian Missionary Society was created. Schreuder became its first missionary, arriving in Port Natal (now Durban, South Africa) on New Year's Day 1844. Knud Paludan
Knud John Paludan (2 November 1908 – 11 September 1988) was a Danish zoologist. He participated in Danish expedition into Iran and Afghanistan and conducted museum as a curator and conducted field studies on seabirds and pheasants. Paludan was born in Svanninge to Else Marie Rasmussen (1877-1950) and Otto Edvard Paludan (1879-1952). He was sent to the Herlufsholm boarding school and then a received a master's degree in zoology in 1933. He travelled to Iran on an ornithological expedition in 1935. Finding that there was no work, he studied medicine and became a doctor at Christiansø in 1941. He also began to study birds and in 1947-49, he took part in the Danish Henning Haslund-Christensen expedition into Afghanistan as ornithologist and physician. Rasmus Paludan (26 February 1702 – 8 January 1759) was a Norwegian theologian and priest. He served as a bishop of the Diocese of Christianssand from 1751 until 1759. Personal life Rasmus Paludan was born on 26 February 1702 in Christiania, Norway. He was the son of Frederik Rasmussen and Anne Jacobsdatter. Paludan was married three times. He first married Margrethe Garmann in 1732, but she died in 1742. Then he married Johanne Fischer in 1743, and she died in 1754.
