Palmério Dória
Palmério Dória (born 1948, in Santarém) is a Brazilian journalist and writer, ex-director of ''Sexy'' magazine and author of a number of books. Dória was born in Santarém and raised in Belém by a priest. He moved to the South of Brazil and started working as a journalist, working at press vehicles such as Folha de S.Paulo, O Estado de S. Paulo and Caros Amigos magazine. He was chief-of-reportage of Rede Globo until 1992, when he took over ''Sexy'' magazine. Santarém, Pará
Santarém () is a city and municipality in the western part of the state of Pará in Brazil. Located at the confluence of the Tapajós and Amazon Rivers, it has become a popular tourist destination. It is the second-most important city in the state, and the financial and economic center of the western part of the state. It leads the Santarém Metropolitan Area, made up of Santarém, Belterra and Mojuí dos Campos. It was once home to the Tapajós Indians, a tribe of Native Americans after whom the river was named. They were the leaders of a large, agricultural chiefdom that flourished before the arrival of Europeans. Belém (; Portuguese for Bethlehem; initially called Nossa Senhora de Belém do Grão-Pará, in English Our Lady of Bethlehem of Great Pará) often called Belém of Pará, is a Brazilian city, capital and largest city of the state of Pará in the country's north. O, or o, is the fifteenth letter and the fourth vowel letter in the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. ''Caros Amigos'' (Portuguese for ''Dear friends'') was a monthly alternative Brazilian magazine based in São Paulo. History and profile ''Caros Amigos'' was established in April 1997 by a group of professionals, including journalists, publicists, writers and intellectuals. Sérgio de Souza, the co-founder and editor of the magazine, died on 25 March 2008. The magazine focuses on politics, social issues and culture from a left wing point of view. ''Caros Amigos'' was published in São Paulo and distributed throughout the country by Editora Casa Amarela. Getúlio Dornelles Vargas (; 19 April 1882 – 24 August 1954) was a Brazilian lawyer and politician who served as the 14th and 17th president of Brazil, from 1930 to 1945 and from 1951 to 1954.
