Palms (Thrice Album)
''Palms'' is the tenth studio album by American rock band Thrice. The album was released on September 14, 2018, through Epitaph Records, making it the band's first release through the label. On July 10, the band released a single titled "The Grey" accompanied by a music video directed by Daniel Carberry. A second single from the album, "Only Us", was released August 14. The album was co-produced by the band and Eric Palmquist, and mixed by John Congleton, and is said to encompass everything from "viscerally charged post-hardcore to piano-driven balladry." On March 1, 2019, the band announced the '' Deeper Wells EP'', consisting of four new tracks recorded during the ''Palms'' sessions. It was released on 12" vinyl on April 13, 2019, for Record Store Day. Thrice
Thrice is an American rock band from Irvine, California, formed in 1998. The group was founded by guitarist/vocalist Dustin Kensrue and lead guitarist Teppei Teranishi while they were in high school. Early in their career, the band was known for melodic hardcore punk music based in heavily distorted guitars, prominent lead guitar lines, and frequent changes in complex time signatures. This style is exemplified on their second album, '' The Illusion of Safety'' (2002) and their third album ''The Artist in the Ambulance'' (2003). Their fourth album ''Vheissu'' (2005) made significant changes by incorporating electronic beats, keyboards, and a more experimental sound. In 2007 and 2008, Thrice released '' The Alchemy Index'', consisting of two studio albums that together make a four-part, 24-song cycle. The discography of Thrice consists of eleven studio albums, two live albums, two compilation albums, five EPs, ten singles, and fifteen music videos. Thrice formed in 1998 in Irvine, California. They released ''Identity Crisis'' in 2001 and '' The Illusion of Safety'' in 2002 through the independent label Sub City Records—an imprint of Hopeless Records. Shortly thereafter, Thrice signed to the major label Island Records and released their most commercially successful album ''The Artist in the Ambulance'' in 2003. The album spawned the two radio singles "All That's Left" and "Stare at the Sun" in addition to the promotional single "Under a Killing Moon". The ARIA Charts are the main Australian music sales charts, issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association. Emma Ruth Rundle
Emma Ruth Rundle (born October 10, 1983) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and visual artist based in Portland, Oregon. Formerly of the Nocturnes and Marriages, she has released five solo albums and is a member of Red Sparowes. Early life and career Rundle was born in Santa Monica, California and moved “back and forth between the Westside and Eastside” when she was growing up before attending Eagle Rock High School. She was raised in Los Angeles with her younger sister in a household where a lot of folk music was played. As a teenager, Rundle lived with her grandmother until the end of her life. After a massive earthquake in her hometown, her mother took her into the legendary folk music store McCabe's and told her she could pick one instrument to rent for lessons. Dustin Michael Kensrue (pronounced KENZ-roo) is a musician, singer and songwriter. He is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist in the rock band Thrice, as well as a solo artist. Career 2007: Please Come Home On October 10, 2006, it was announced that Kensrue had signed with Equal Vision Records, and that the label would release Kensrue's debut solo album. On January 23, 2007, Kensrue released a solo album titled ''Please Come Home'' on Equal Vision Records. He wrapped up the recording and mixing of the album at the home of fellow Thrice member Teppei Teranishi. The album opened at 142 on the ''Billboard'' 200 with 5,800 copies sold the first week. Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 and held on one Saturday (typically the third) every April and every Black Friday in November to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". The day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores around the world. The twelve-inch single (often written as 12-inch or 12″) is a type of vinyl ( polyvinyl chloride or PVC) gramophone record that has wider groove spacing and shorter playing time with a 'single' or a few related sound tracks on each surface, compared to LPs (long play) which have several songs on each side. Post-hardcore
Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression.
