Palmerstown
Palmerstown (; officially Palmerston, see spelling) is a civil parish and suburb in western Dublin on the banks of the River Liffey. It forms part of the South Dublin local authority and the Dublin Mid-West parliamentary constituency. The area is bordered to the north by the River Liffey and the Strawberry Beds, to the west by Lucan, to the south-west by Clondalkin, to the south by Ballyfermot and to the east by the village of Chapelizod. Palmerstown village is situated near the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre. The area is situated near the major junction of the M50 motorway and the N4. It lies approximately 7 km west of O'Connell Street in Dublin city centre. The Old Lucan Road, once the main route from the city to the west, passes through the centre of Palmerstown village. Palmerstown ( ga, Baile Phámar) is a civil parish in the barony of Balrothery West in the modern county of Fingal, Ireland. It comprises six townlands: Cottrelstown, Folly, Jordanstown, Palmerstown, Whitestown, and Wolganstown. It is surrounded by the parishes of Clonmethan to the east, Grallagh to the north, Ballymadun to the northeast, Donaghmore to the southeast, and Greenoge to the south; the last two being in County Meath. Samuel Lewis recorded in 1837, when the Church of Ireland was the established church and the civil parish was conterminous with the ecclesiastical parish: Good building stone is found in the parish. Palmerstown, Vale Of Glamorgan
Palmerstown is a south-eastern suburb of Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan south-west of Dinas Powys and 7 miles south-west of Cardiff in Wales. It is immediately north of chemical and plastics industries such as Dow Chemicals, and Barry No.2 dock and the Atlantic Trading Estate lie south-east of No.2 dock. Its south end is separated from the A4055 Cardiff-Barry main road via Palmerston Road, (''sic'') a tee junction with the A4055 and access to the original part of Palmerstown's housing is via a narrow railway bridge over the Barry-Cardiff railway line and lies north-west of the former Biglis Junction which was a short distance from the so-called "Palmerston Bridge" which separates Palmerston Road from Dobbins Road.
