Palladium is a chemical element with the Symbol (chemistry), symbol Pd and atomic number 46. It is a rare and lustrous silvery-white metal discovered in 1803 by the English chemist William Hyde Wollaston. He named it after the 2 Pallas, asteroid Pallas, which was itself named after the epithet of the Greek goddess Athena, acquired by her when she slew Pallas (daughter of Triton), Pallas. 2015 Bamako Hotel Attack
On 20 November 2015, Islamist militants took 170 hostages and killed 20 of them in a mass shooting at the Radisson Blu hotel in Bamako, the capital city of Mali. Includes video.
