Pallacanestro Messina
Pallacanestro Messina was an Italian professional basketball team based in Messina, Sicily. History Established in 1976, the club was admitted to the first division Serie A for the 2003-04 season after Virtus Bologna was excluded for financial irregularities. Messina struggled on every front during that season, finishing dead last in the league whilst suffering from financial problems and a lack of interest from the public. With debts too big to allow the club to even take part in other divisions and scaring off clubs that wanted to buy the side's sporting rights, Messina went bankrupt a few months after the season. Brian Oliver (basketball, Born 1968)
Brian Darnell Oliver (born June 1, 1968) is an American-Italian retired professional basketball player. A 6' 4" (1.93 m) and 210 lb (95 kg) shooting guard out of Georgia Tech, he was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA in the second round (32nd pick overall) of the 1990 NBA draft. Oliver played four years in the league, mainly with the 76ers from 1990–1992 and two brief stints with the Washington Bullets (1994–95) and Atlanta Hawks (1997–98). His best year as a pro came during his rookie year with the Sixers, appearing in 73 games and averaging 3.8 ppg. Vincent Raymond Yarbrough (born March 21, 1981) is an American former professional basketball player who played in the NBA and Europe. The 6'7" and 210 lb forward out of the University of Tennessee was selected as the fourth pick of the second round (33rd overall) of the 2002 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. He played 59 games with them during 2002-03 (his only season in the NBA), averaging 6.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. Saddi Washington (born July 30, 1975) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He is the current men's basketball assistant coach for the Michigan basketball team. He played college basketball at Western Michigan. Before becoming a collegiate assistant coach, he was a volunteer coach at Romulus Senior High School under current Alabama head coach Nate Oats.
