Pallab Lochan Das (born December 31, 1978 in Biswanath Chariali, Assam) is a Bharatiya Janata Party politician from Assam. He was elected in Assam Legislative Assembly election in 2011 (from Behali Vidhan Sabha constituency) and 2016 from Rangapara constituency. He is the current Member of Parliament from Tezpur (Lok Sabha constituency). Biswanath Chariali
Biswanath Chariali (IPA: ˌbɪswəˈnɑːθ ˈtʃɑːrɪˌælɪ) is a city and a municipal board in Biswanath district in the state of Assam, India. This city is the district headquarters of Biswanath district, which was created on 15 August 2015. It derives its name from Biswanath Ghat. It holds the first "Clock Tower" (ghanta ghar, normally found in North Indian towns) of Assam followed by the clock tower of Dibrugarh. Demographics As of 2011 India census, Biswanath Chariali had a population of 19,145. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%.
