Eduard Palla
Eduard Palla (3 September 1864 – 7 March 1922) was an Austrian botanist and mycologist of Moravian descent. As a botanist he specialized in research of Cyperaceae (sedges), of which he was the taxonomic authority of many species. From 1883 to 1887 he studied natural sciences at the University of Vienna, receiving his doctorate with a dissertation on the plant anatomy, anatomy and systematics of Cyperaceae. Following graduation he worked as an assistant to Gottlieb Haberlandt at the University of Graz, where in 1891 he obtained his habilitation in botany. In 1900–01 he conducted investigations of sedges and tropical fungi on Java and Sumatra of the Dutch East Indies. In 1909 he became an associate professor at Graz, followed by a full professorship in 1913. Maria Antónia Palla
Maria Antónia Palla (born 10 January 1933) is a journalist, writer and feminist who was one of the first female journalists in Portugal. She played an important role in the legalization of abortion in the country, by promoting the practice in interviews and television programmes. In 2004 Palla was awarded the title of Commander of the Order of Liberty. She is the mother of António Costa, the current Prime Minister of Portugal. Early life Maria Antónia Palla was born Maria Antónia de Assis dos Santos in Seixal, Portugal in January 1933 at the home of her paternal grandparents. At the age of four she moved to Sintra. She was brought up in an atheist, communist, and republican family. Her paternal grandfather and grandmother were Republicans and Freemasons. Stephan Palla
Stephan Maceda Palla (born 15 May 1989) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Austrian Landesliga club ASK Voitsberg. Born in Austria, Palla spent his youth and early career with Rapid Wien before joining Wolfsberg. He then spent a season in Thailand with Buriram United before returning to Austria. At international level, he represented the youth teams of his birth country before switching to the Philippines, for whom he is eligible through his mother. He made his senior international debut in 2015. Club career Rapid Vienna Palla began his career with SC Mauerbach and joined in the year 1998 to the Academy from SK Rapid Wien.
