Palestine Popular Liberation Organization
Palestine Popular Liberation Organization (in Arabic: المنظمة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين) was a Palestinian political organization. It was formed in 1964, on the eve of the first session of the Palestinian National Council which was held in May 1964. The headquarters of the PPLO had reportedly been in Jordan. The PPLO comprised three streams: left-wing Arab Nationalists (with its base of Palestinian refugees in Syria), former members of the Arab Socialist Baath Party and the Jordanian Communist Party and elements from the Palestinian communities in Jordan and Kuwait. Arab Socialist Baath Party
The Arab Socialist Baʿath Party ( ar, حزب البعث العربي الاشتراكي ' ) was a political party founded in Syria by Mishel ʿAflaq, Ṣalāḥ al-Dīn al-Bītār, and associates of Zaki al-ʾArsūzī. The party espoused Baʿathism (from Arabic ''baʿth'' meaning "renaissance" or "resurrection"), which is an ideology mixing Arab nationalist, pan-Arabism, Arab socialist, and anti-imperialist interests. The Jordanian Communist Party (JCP; ar, الحزب الشیوعی الاردنی, ''al-Hizb al-Shuyu'i al-Urduni'') is a communist party in Jordan, founded in 1948. Its current general secretary is Dr. Munir Hamarana.
