Palau At The 2016 Summer Olympics
Palau competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's fifth consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics. Five athletes, three men and two women, were selected to the Palauan team at the Games, competing only in athletics, swimming, freestyle wrestling, and flatwater canoeing (the country's Olympic debut in Rio de Janeiro). Two of Palau's Olympians returned: sprinter Rodman Teltull (men's 100 metres), and freestyle wrestler Florian Skilang Temengil (men's 125 kg), who reprised his role of leading the Palauan delegation as the nation's flag bearer for the second time in the opening ceremony, since he did so eight years earlier in Beijing. Dániel Ligeti
Dániel Ligeti (born July 31, 1989 in Szombathely) is an amateur Hungarian freestyle wrestler, who competes in the men's super heavyweight category. He won the bronze medal for his division at the 2011 European Wrestling Championships in Dortmund, Germany, and silver at the 2012 European Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. Ligeti stands 1.92 metres (6 ft 3.5 in) tall and weighs 115 kilograms (254 lb). He is also currently a member of TuS Adelhausen in Rheinfelden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and is coached by Istvan Gulyas from the national wrestling team. Ligeti represented Hungary at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he competed in the 120 kg class in men's freestyle wrestling. A pin, or fall, is a victory condition in various forms of wrestling that is met by holding an opponent's shoulders or scapulae (shoulder blades) on the wrestling mat for a prescribed period of time. This article deals with the pin as it is defined in amateur wrestling. A pin ends a match regardless of when it occurs. Dirngulbai Moreyna "UB" Misech (born 27 September 1997) is a female Palauan swimmer and represents her country at international swimming competitions. She holds seven national records. Shawn Erbelau Dingilius-Wallace (born 26 July 1994) is a Palauan Olympic swimmer. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the Men's 50 metre freestyle event where he ranked at #72 with a time of 26.78 seconds, a national record at the time. He did not advance to the semifinals. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Men's 50 m freestyle.
