Palais Thermal
The Palais Thermal is a spa in Bad Wildbad in Germany. The construction for the spa building was finished in 1847 and opened under the name of Graf-Eberhard-Bad. Architecture The "Wildbad" established not only the centuries-old bathing tradition in the Oberes Enztal which have been documented in Bad Wildbad since 1521, but also determined the location of the Graf-Eberhard-Bad in the last century. The well-known thermal springs have been used for bathing and curing since the Middle Ages. The original buildings were redesigned over many centuries to meet the social and cultural changes of the respective centuries. From the beginning of the 19th century, the desire for spa and bathing resorts arose in all of Central Europe due to the increasing economic potential, increasing mobility and the use of advertising. Nikolaus Friedrich Von Thouret
Nikolaus Friedrich von Thouret (born Ludwigsburg, 2 June 1767; died Stuttgart, 17 January 1845) was a German architect and designer. Life and work From 1778 to 1788 he was educated at the Hohe Karlsschule in Stuttgart where he trained as a painter. He then attended the Académie des Beaux-Arts (1789–1790) in Paris and studied architecture in Rome (1791–1797). After returning to Stuttgart, he worked for the court in Württemberg as a designer-draughtsman and decorative painter. An early architectural project was the Gothic Revival church of Hohenheim (1797; re-erected 1803 at Monrepos, Ludwigsburg; ruin since the 1940s. With the assistance of Goethe, whom he met in Stuttgart in 1797, Thouret was commissioned to design the décor of the Schloss in Weimar and to renovate the court theatre there (1798–1800). Arabesque
The arabesque is a form of artistic decoration consisting of "surface decorations based on rhythmic linear patterns of scrolling and interlacing foliage, tendrils" or plain lines, often combined with other elements. Another definition is "Foliate ornament, used in the Islamic world, typically using leaves, derived from stylised half-palmettes, which were combined with spiralling stems". It usually consists of a single design which can be ' tiled' or seamlessly repeated as many times as desired. Black Forest
The Black Forest (german: Schwarzwald ) is a large forested mountain range in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany, bounded by the Rhine Valley to the west and south and close to the borders with France and Switzerland. The Friedrichsbad is a spa in the city of Baden-Baden in Germany. The Neo-renaissance spa building was completed in 1877. Spa architecture (german: Kurarchitektur) is the name given to buildings that provide facilities for relaxation, recuperation and health treatment in spas. The architecture of these buildings is called "spa architecture" even though it is not a uniform architectural style, but a collective term for a genre of buildings with a spa function. This type of building first appeared in Europe in the 17th century and had its heyday in the 19th century. The word ''Bad'' (English: bath) is normally used as a prefix (''Bad Vilbel'') or a suffix (''Marienbad'', ''Wiesbaden'') to denote the town in question is a spa town. In any case, Bad as a prefix is an official designation and requires governmental authorization (which may also be suspended if a town fails to maintain the required standards). The word ''Kurort'' is also used, meaning a place for a cure. However not all ''Kurorte'' are spa towns; there are also ''Kurorte'' which are visited for their pure air ('' Luftkurorte'', for example). Charles (german: Karl Friedrich Alexander; 6 March 18236 October 1891) was King of Württemberg, from 25 June 1864 until his death in 1891. Early life Charles was born on 6 March 1823 in Stuttgart as the son of King William I and his third wife Pauline Therese (1800–1873). As the king's eldest son he became Crown Prince of Württemberg. He studied in Berlin and Tübingen. Marriage and King of Württemberg On 13 July 1846 Karl married Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaievna of Russia, the daughter of Tsar Nicholas I and Charlotte of Prussia. Bad Wildbad is a town in Germany, in the state of Baden-Württemberg. It is located in the government district (''Regierungsbezirk'') of Karlsruhe and in the district (''Landkreis'') of Calw. Its coordinates are 48° 45' N, 8° 33' E. About 10,130 people live there. The current mayor is Mauro Gauger. The current town of Bad Wildbad is an amalgamation of several communities brought together under local government reform in 1974. Art Nouveau (; ) is an international style of art, architecture, and applied art, especially the decorative arts.
