Palair Assembly constituency is a constituency of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, India. It is one of the 10 constituencies in Khammam district. It is part of Khammam Lok Sabha constituency. Thummala Nageswara Rao, who was the Roads & Buildings Minister of Telangana, represented the constituency before losing to Kandala Upender Reddy in Telangana Assembly Elections in 2018. Khammam District
Khammam district is a district in the eastern region of the Indian state of Telangana. The city of Khammam is the district headquarters. The district shares boundaries with Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri districts and with Eluru and NTR districts in Andhra pradesh state. History Paleolithic man probably roamed around the areas of lower Godavari valley and the surroundings of Bhadrachalam, Kothagudem, Wyra, Sathupally and Paloncha Taluks in the district. Prehistoric rock paintings were found near Neeladri konda near Lankapalli of Sathupally Taluk. Megalithic Dolmens were found at Janampet of Pinapaka Taluk. Thummala Nageswara Rao is Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) politician who has at various times been a minister in the Government of Andhra Pradesh and, later, in the Government of Telangana. He is from the Khammam district. Early life Nageshwar Rao was born on 15 November 1953 and is from Gollagudem village ( Gandugula Palli) of Dammapeta Mandal in Khammam District. He completed B.Com before entering in politics. Career He joined TDP in 1982 election but lost the 1983 election. Rao was elected on three occasions to the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh as a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) candidate from Sathupalli constituency, in 1985, 1994 and 1999.
