Palabishegham
''Palabishegham'' () is a 1977 Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by K. S. Gopalakrishnan. The film stars Jaishankar, Srikanth, Sripriya and Rajasulochana. It was released on 14 May 1977. Plot Kumaran is a hard working farmer living a simple life along with his mother Meenakshi. In reality, Meenakshi is the wife of the village landlord, who lives with his concubine Sengamalam and a son named Muthaiah. Kumaran despises Muthaiah and they lock horns to win the love of Sivagami. Sivagami chooses to marry Kumaran, but her father "Poisatchi" Boothalingam does not approve. So Sivagamai escapes her home and marries Kumaran. Muthaiah and his mother plot to destroy Kumaran. Also Sengamalam hatches a secret plan along with Boothalingam to take over the landlord's property. Sripriya is an Indian actress, film director and politician from Tamil Nadu. She has acted in over 300 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages. She has also directed films in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu languages, including the 2014 film ''Drushyam''. Chittajallu Rajeevalochana (15 August 1935 – 5 March 2013), better known as Rajasulochana, was an Indian classical dancer and actress. She has acted in more than 300 Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi language films. Early life She was born on 15 August 1935 in Vijayawada, Bezawada (now Vijayawada), in Andhra Pradesh. Her father, Pilliarchetty Bhakthavatsalam Naidu worked in Indian Railways and was transferred to Madras as PA to the General Manager of M&SM Railway. Thengai Srinivasan (21 October 1937 – 9 November 1987) was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil language, Tamil-language films and plays from the 1960s to the 1980s. He was given the prefix ''Thengai'' (coconut) after his role as a coconut-seller in the play ''Kal Manam''. Although originally a comedian, he also performed in other genres and enacted several lead and antagonistic roles. Srikanth (19 March 1940 – 12 October 2021) was an Indian actor who has performed in around 200 Tamil films since his debut in 1965. He is also referred to as Venniradai Srikanth. He has played the lead hero in around 50 films between 1965 and 1979 and has also played supporting roles in films with actors Sivaji Ganesan, Muthuraman, Ravichandran and Jaishankar in the lead roles.
