Paku Alam III
Paku Alam III was Duke (''Adipati'') of Pakualaman between 1858 and 1864, making it the second shortest reigning Paku Alam. Pakualaman became a small hereditary Duchy within the Sultanate of Yogyakarta, as a mirror-image of Mangkunegaran in the territory of the Susuhunanate of Surakarta. Paku Alam III was considered to be an enthusiastic author and literary patron. The son of Paku Alam II, Paku Alam III was buried at Kota Gede. Duke is a male title either of a monarch ruling over a duchy, or of a member of royalty, or nobility. As rulers, dukes are ranked below emperors, kings, grand princes, grand dukes, and sovereign princes. As royalty or nobility, they are ranked below princess nobility and grand dukes. Paku Alam X
KGPAA Paku Alam X (born in Yogyakarta on 15 December 1962) is the Duke (''Adipati'') of Pakualaman, a small Javanese duchy in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He succeeded as Paku Alam upon the death of the previous ruler, his father Paku Alam IX, who died on 21 November 2015. He was formally crowned with the Royal Javanese title of ''Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Arya (KGPAA) Paku Alam X'' on 7 January 2016, and as stated in the National Constitution, on 25 May 2016, He was sworn and appointed as the hereditary Vice-Governor of Yogyakarta Special Region. Paku Alam IX
KGPAA Paku Alam IX (7 May 1938 – 21 November 2015) was the ruler of Pakualaman, in central Java, Indonesia. His court name before he became ''Paku Alam IX'' was ''Bendara Raden Mas Ambarkusumo''. He succeeded as ''Paku Alam'' upon the death of the last ruler, his father Paku Alam VIII, on 11 September 1998, and was formally installed as ''Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Arya Paku Alam IX'' on 26 May 1999. Like his predecessor, he was also the vice-governor of the Yogyakarta Special Region, serving under Sultan Hamengkubuwana X. Paku Alam IX resided in Paku Alaman palace in Yogyakarta. He died on 21 November 2015 after being admitted to a hospital five days earlier. He is buried in the family cemetery in Girigondo in the nearby Kulon Progo district. Paku Alam VIII
Sri Paku Alam VIII (10 April 1910 – 11 September 1998) was Duke (''Adipati'') of Pakualaman serving the second Governor of Yogyakarta. He was the son of Paku Alam VII and ''Gusti Bendara Raden Ayu Retno Poewoso''. His child name was ''Gusti Raden Mas Harya Sularso Kunto Suratno'' and his adult name was ''Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Arya Prabu''. He acceded to the throne of the Duchy of Pakualaman (''Kadipaten Pakualaman'') on 12 April 1937 with the official name ''Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Arya Paku Alam VIII''. Kota Gede
Kotagede (Javanese: ꦏꦸꦛꦒꦼꦝꦺ ''Kuthagedhé'') is a city district (''kemantren'') and a historic neighborhood in Yogyakarta, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
