Pakruojis City Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Pakruojis, Lithuania. It opened in 1989 and is used mostly for football matches. UEFA stadium categories are categories for association football, football stadiums laid out in UEFA's Stadium Infrastructure Regulations. Using these regulations, stadiums are rated as category one, two, three, or four (renamed from elite) in ascending ranking order. These categories replaced the previous method of ranking stadiums on one to five star scale in 2006. A stadium must be rated as category four in order to host games in the playoffs of the qualifying stage for the UEFA Champions League, or any game in the main competition. Category four is also required to host any game in the main competition of the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, UEFA Nations League or the UEFA European Championship final tournament. Pakruojis
Pakruojis () is a city in Lithuania. It is situated on the Kruoja River, which has a dam above the city. Forty three buildings of the manor, mentioned in 1531 still survive. History Pakruojis and it neighbourhood are within the boundaries of the inhabited area of the Semigallian tribe. For a long time it was thought that the town was founded in 1585, when the town and Pakruojis manor were mentioned in land ownership records. This date has entered several encyclopedias. Futbolo centras Pakruojis, commonly known as Pakruojis, was a Football in Lithuania, Lithuanian Football (soccer), football club located in Pakruojis, center of Pakruojis District Municipality, Pakruojis District. History Club was created in January 2016 after the dissolution of another Pakruojis-based club, FK Kruoja Pakruojis, Kruoja. Despite publicly denying any links with Kruoja, club attracted many of their footballers and also former Kruoja head coach Aidas Dambrauskas. They played in 2016 Žemaitijos Taurė, but remained last in A Lyga. Team was hoping to compete in the 2016 LFF I Lyga, but failed to obtain I Lyga license and played in II Lyga West zone instead. I Lyga
The I Lyga, LFF I Lyga, Pirma Lyga, is the second tier of professional Lithuanian football championship. Format Organized by the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF), I Lyga is contested by 14-16 teams, with the top team gaining promotion to A Lyga and replaced by the lowest-placed team in top division and the bottom 4 clubs being relegated to the II Lyga. Starting with the 2016 season, the second-placed team qualifies to promotion play-offs with A Lyga's next-to-last team. The A Lyga is the top division of professional football in Lithuania. The A Lyga is an abbreviation of Aukščiausia lyga meaning Highest League. It is organized by Lithuanian Football Federation LFF ( lt, Lietuvos Futbolo Federacija).
