The Pakistan blind cricket team is the national blind cricket team of Pakistan. Running and organised by the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) which is affiliated with the '' World Blind Cricket Council'' (WBCC). Blind Cricket
Blind cricket is a version of the sport of cricket adapted for blind and partially sighted players. It has been governed by the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) since 1996. So far, five Blind World Cups have been held: New Delhi, India (1998); Chennai, India (2002); Islamabad, Pakistan (2006), and India (2018). In 2012, the first Blind World Cup T20 was held in Bangalore, India. Blind cricket relies on common use of the 'sweep shot', in order to provide maximum chance of the bat hitting the ball. History Blind cricket was invented in Melbourne in 1922 by two blind factory workers who improvised the game using a tin can containing rocks. The Pakistan women's national cricket team, also known as Green Shirts or Women in Green, represents Pakistan in international women's cricket. The Pakistan national cricket team or Pak cricket team, often referred to as the Shaheens (), Green Shirts, Men in Green and Cornered Tigers is administered by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Masood Jan
Masood Jan is a blind cricketer from Pakistan. He was part of the Pakistani team during the inaugural edition of the 1998 Blind Cricket World Cup. He held the world record for the highest individual score by a blind cricketer in a 40 over blind cricket match with career best score of 262* and the record remained unbroken for 24 years before being finally breached by Australia's Steffan Nero who smashed 309* in June 2022. However, he still holds the record for the highest individual score ever by a blind cricketer in Blind Cricket World Cup history when he smashed 262 not out against South Africa at Roshanara Club on 19 November 1998. In the 1998 Blind cricket World Cup final, he scored 146 for Pakistan and in the end Pakistan lost the finals to South Africa. 2018 Blind Cricket World Cup
The 2018 Blind Cricket World Cup was the fifth Blind Cricket World Cup tournament, and was held from 8–20 January 2018 in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. In the final, defending champions India defeated Pakistan by 2 wickets to secure their 2nd Blind Cricket World Cup title under the captaincy of Ajay Kumar Reddy. Six teams, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Australia and Nepal played in the tournament, with Nepal making their first ever appearance. India played all of their group stage matches of the tournament at neutral venues in the United Arab Emirates, after the foreign ministry of India blocked them from travelling to Pakistan. It was later revealed that the Cricket Association for the Blind in India and Pakistan Blind Cricket Council had agreed to shift the Indian matches to the UAE.
