Blind Cricket
Blind cricket is a version of the sport of cricket adapted for blind and partially sighted players. It has been governed by the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) since 1996. So far, five Blind World Cups have been held: New Delhi, India (1998); Chennai, India (2002); Islamabad, Pakistan (2006), and India (2018). In 2012, the first Blind World Cup T20 was held in Bangalore, India. Blind cricket relies on common use of the 'sweep shot', in order to provide maximum chance of the bat hitting the ball. History Blind cricket was invented in Melbourne in 1922 by two blind factory workers who improvised the game using a tin can containing rocks. The Victorian Blind Cricket Association was founded shortly after, in 1922, and the first sports ground and clubhouse for blind cricket was built at Kooyong, Melbourne in 1928. Cricket Bat
A cricket bat is a specialised piece of equipment used by batters in the sport of cricket to hit the ball, typically consisting of a cane handle attached to a flat-fronted willow-wood blade. It may also be used by a batter who is making ground to avoid a run out, by holding the bat and touching the ground with it. The length of the bat may be no more than 38 inches (96.5 cm) and the width no more than 4.25 inches (10.8 cm). Its use is first mentioned in 1624. The Pakistan blind cricket team is the national blind cricket team of Pakistan. Running and organised by the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) which is affiliated with the '' World Blind Cricket Council'' (WBCC). Aditya Academy Ground
Aditya Academy Ground is a cricket ground in Bengaluru, India. It was established in 2012. The ground is not a first-class venue but it is only used for List A cricket, domestic under-19s or Blind cricket. In 2012, the first T20 Blind Cricket World Cup was held in Bangalore and the Aditya Academy Ground was one of venue and host 19 matches of it. India defeated Pakistan by 29 runs in the final. In 2014, the ground hosted its first Vijay Hazare Trophy matches when Hyderabad cricket team played against Tamil Nadu cricket team. Two more List A Matches are played on this ground.
