Pakistan Writers' Guild
The Pakistan Writers Guild (Pākistān Rāʾiṭarz Gilḍ) is an association of writers and writers that was established on 29 January 1959 in Karachi under the chairmanship of Maulvi Abdul Haq and he became the first member of the association. The purpose of establishing this association was to protect the rights of writers of Pakistan. Almost all notable writers and poets of Pakistan were members of this association. Maulvi Abdul Haq
Maulvi Abdul Haq ( ur, ) (20 April 1870 – 16 August 1961) was a scholar and a linguist, whom some call '' Baba-e-Urdu'' ( ur, ) (''Father of Urdu''). Abdul Haq was a champion of the Urdu language and the demanded for it to be made the national language of Pakistan. Early life He was deeply influenced by Syed's political and social views, and, following his wishes, learned English and scientific subjects. Like Syed Ahmad Khan, Haq saw Urdu as a major cultural and political influence on the life and identity of the Muslims of India. In the same year, he was appointed secretary of the All India Muhammadan Educational Conference, which had been founded by Syed Ahmed Khan in 1886 for the promotion of education and intellectualism in Muslim society. Sir Syed founded the Anjuman Taraqqi-i-Urdu in 1903 in Aligarh with Thomas Walker Arnold as its first president and Shibli Nomani as the first secretary. Writers' Organizations
The Writers' Buildings, often shortened to just Writers, is the official secretariat building of the state government of West Bengal in Kolkata, India. The 150-meter long building covers the entire northern stretch of the iconic Lal Dighi pond at the centre of historic B.B.D. Bagh, long considered as the administrative and business hub of the city. It originally served as the principal administrative office for writers (junior clerks) of the British East India Company (EIC). Designed by Thomas Lyon in 1777, the Writers' Building has gone through a long series of extensions over the centuries. Since India's independence in 1947, it housed the office of the Chief Minister of West Bengal, cabinet ministers and other senior officials, until 4 October 2013, when a major restoration of the building was announced.
