Pakistan Super League Opening And Closing Ceremonies
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is a professional cricket league that follows a Twenty20 format. Every year, two ceremonies are held: the opening ceremony that is held a few hours before the first match of the league, and the closing ceremony that is held a few hours before the final match of the league. 2016 Opening ceremony The opening ceremony of PSL season 1 in 2016 was held on 4 February 2016 at 7:00 pm and ended at 8:00 pm. It was held at Dubai International Cricket Stadium before the first match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators. The hosts of the ceremony were Yasir Hussain and Stephanie Siriwardhana, and the co-hosts were Zainab Abbas and Alan Wilkins. It featured live performances by Pakistani singer Ali Zafar, Jamaican rapper and singer Sean Paul, Mohib Mirza, Sanam Saeed, and other artists. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league contested during February and March of every year by six teams representing six cities of Pakistan. The league was founded on 9 September 2015 with five teams by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Instead of operating as an association of independently-owned teams, the league is a single entity in which each franchise is owned and controlled by investors. Each team plays the group stage matches in a double round robin format; the top four teams with the most points qualify for the playoffs, culminating in the final. Junaid Jamshed Khan ( ur, ; 3 September 1964 – 7 December 2016) was a Pakistani singer-songwriter, television personality, fashion designer, actor, and preacher. After graduating with a degree in engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, Jamshed briefly worked as a civilian contractor and engineer for the Pakistan Air Force before focusing on a musical career. "Ab Khel Jamay Ga" (; ) was the official anthem of the 2017 Pakistan Super League, the second season of the Pakistan Super League. It was released on 1 January 2017 by HBL Pakistan and was written and sung by Ali Zafar.
