Paige Greco
Paige Greco (born 19 February 1997) is an Australian Paralympic cyclist who won gold medals at the 2019 World Track Championships in C1-3 women's pursuit 2020 Summer Paralympics, 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. She broke the World Record setting a new one of 3:52.283 in the 3000m individual pursuit at the Tokyo Paralympics. Personal life Greco has cerebral palsy which mainly affects the right side of her body. She has completed an Exercise Science Degree at the University of South Australia. Cycling Greco is classified as a C3 (classification), C3 cyclist. Before turning to cycling, Greco was a promising track and field athlete. In 2018, Greco moved from Victoria to South Australian Sports Institute to be coached by Loz Shaw. At the 2019 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, she won gold medals in the Women's 3 km Pursuit C3 and C3 500m Time Trial. C3 (classification)
C3 is a para-cycling classification. The class includes people with moderate upper or lower limb dysfunctions and includes cyclists with cerebral palsy, limb impairments and amputations. The UCI recommends this be coded as MC3 or WC3. The class competes at the Paralympic Games. Definition PBS defined this classification as "Cyclists with upper or lower limb disabilities and moderate neurological dysfunction." 2019 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships
The 2019 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships were the World Championships for track cycling with athletes with a physical disability. The Championships took place in Apeldoorn, Netherlands from 14 to 17 March 2019. The championships Apeldoorn in the Netherlands hosted the UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships for the second time. Track events Events were held in five discipline; match sprint, team sprint, time trial, individual pursuit and scratch race, and across 6 disability classifications. Test events were held for: 1 km Tandem Mixed Team Sprint and Omnium (C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5 for Men and Women). Cycling Australia (CA), the trading name of the Australian Cycling Federation Inc, was the national governing body for bicycle racing in Australia, and represented the interests of affiliated cycling clubs and State federations. It covered the disciplines of road, track, mountain bike, cyclo-cross, BMX.
