Pahang Rangers Futsal Club is a professional Futsal club based in Kuantan, Pahang. The club competes in the MPFL Division 1, the national futsal league in Malaysia. Founded in 2016 as Kuantan Rangers Futsal Club, the club compete as an amateur status futsal club before rebranding to Pahang Rangers F.C. to became fully professional in 2019. In terms of success, the club has won 1 MPFL title, 1 Brunei Futsal League title and 1 Malaysia Futsal Cup. Both of the MPFL and Malaysia Futsal Cup titles were won in 2023 season with Gerard Casas as the head coach of the club. History Formation and early years (2016–2018) Kuantan Rangers F.C. was established in November 2016 and participated in the Qualifying Round of the 2017 Liga Futsal Kebangsaan from December 21 to 23, with Mohammad Faizul Abdul Gaffar as the club's head coach. MPFL Division 1
The Malaysia Premier Futsal League Division 1, commonly abbreviated as MPFL Division 1, is the highest division of the Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL) and is currently contested by 8 teams. Since the MPFL was introduced in 2019, only two teams have ever been crowned champions, namely Selangor in 2019 and 2022 (using the name Selangor MAC) and Pahang Rangers in 2023. MPFL 2020 and 2021 were canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic. Seasons run from mid-February to the early November, with the 8 teams all meeting each other twice, resulting in a 14-match season, for a total of 56 matches league-wide. The 2023 Malaysia Futsal Cup was the 2nd season of the Malaysia Futsal Cup. This competition is open to the top 5 teams in each group in the Malaysian Premier Futsal League this season.
