''Paganini in Venice'' (german: Paganini in Venedig) is a 1929 German short historical film directed by Frank Clifford and starring Andreas Weißgerber, Hans Hermann Schaufuß, and Ãgnes Esterházy. It was made by the newly formed Tobis Film during the switch from silent to sound film. The film's sets were designed by the art director Erich Czerwonski Erich Czerwonski (1889–1940) was a German art director.Kreimeier p.73 He designed the sets for around a hundred productions during his career. Frank Clifford (producer)
Frank Clifford (1898–1976) was a German film producer. He was involved in early attempts to pioneer sound film production in Europe, directing the short film ''Paganini in Venice'' for Tobis Film. During the early 1930s he worked at the Epinay Studios in Paris, overseeing several films produced by the French subsidiary of Tobis. After the Second World War he worked briefly as a screenwriter for DEFA in East Berlin.
