Padmaja Phenany Joglekar
Padmaja Phenany Joglekar is a Hindustani Classical singer. She is a disciple of Pandit Jasraj. She was awarded the Padma Shri Award in 2001. Early life Brought up in the tradition of Indian classical music, Padmaja a graduate in Microbiology, opted for a career in music. Today she sings both Hindustani Classical ( Khayal, Thumri, Tappa etc.) and the light popular variety ( Gazals, Geet, Bhajans etc.). Personal life She is married to Sunil Joglekar and has a son. Career Joglekar started learning Hindustani Classical music under the guidance of the vocalist Jasraj. She took further training from the Sarangi maestro Pandit Ram Narayan and the music director Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar. Hindustani classical music is the classical music of northern regions of the Indian subcontinent. It may also be called North Indian classical music or, in Hindustani, ''shastriya sangeet'' (). It is played in instruments like the violin, sitar and sarod. Its origins from the 12th century CE, when it diverged from Carnatic music, the classical tradition in South India. Ahmed Faraz
Syed Ahmad Shah (), better known by his pen name Ahmed Faraz, ( 12 January 1931 – 25 August 2008) was a Pakistani Urdu poet, scriptwriter and became the founding Director General (later Chairman) of Pakistan Academy of Letters. He wrote his poetry under the pseudonym ''Faraz''. He criticised military rule and coup d'état in the country and was displaced by the military dictators. Awards and recognition Ahmad Faraz was first awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan and then the Hilal-e-Imtiaz in 2004 by the then President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf. Suresh Bhat ( mr, सुरेश भट; 15 April 1932 – 14 March 2003) was a Marathi poet from the state of Maharashtra, India. Life Suresh Bhat converted to Buddhism with the help of Bhante Surai Sasai. Mangesh Keshav Padgaoankar (10 March 1929 – 30 December 2015) was a legendary Marathi poet from Maharashtra, India. Education Padgaonkar was born on 10 March 1929 in Vengurla, Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra. He received a Master of Arts degree in Marathi and Sanskrit from the University of Bombay. Padgaonkar taught Marathi at Matushree Mithibai College in Mumbai for several years, and then during the 1970–1990 period served as an editor at the US Information Service (USIS), both in Mumbai.
