Paddy Moore
Paddy Moore (4 August 1909 – 24 July 1951) was an Irish professional footballer who played for, among others, Shamrock Rovers and Aberdeen. Moore was a dual internationalist and played for both Ireland teams – the FAI XI and the IFA XI. In February 1934 Moore scored four goals for the FAI XI in a World Cup qualifier against Belgium. As a result, he became the first player ever to score four goals in a World Cup game. However injury and alcoholism combined to blight both his career and life and he was only 41 when he died. In September 2006 Moore was posthumously honoured by Shamrock Rovers at their Legends Ball. Paddy Travers
Patrick Travers (28 May 1883 – 5 February 1962) was a Scottish football player and manager in the first half of the 20th century. He played for many clubs in his native Scotland and for Barnsley in England, before becoming involved in coaching, and later, management, winning the Scottish Cup with Clyde on two occasions either side of World War II. Playing career Raised in Renfrew, Travers first played for his hometown team Renfrew Victoria around the turn of the century. In 1901 he played 13 games for Barnsley, before returning to Scotland to play for Thornliebank. He had a further spell at Barnsley, then went back to Thornliebank, followed by games for New Brompton and Renton before moving to Clyde. Jimmy Daly
Jimmy Daly (born 30 November 1904, date of death unknown) was an Irish football player born in Dublin who played primarily as a right-back. He joined Shamrock Rovers in 1931 and in his first season helped Rovers win the League, the FAI Cup and the Shield. On 21 May 1932 he departed for Aberdeen F.C. of the Scottish Division One. On August 17, 1932 Daly made his debut for ''the Dons'' in a 7-1 win over East Stirlingshire in the Dewar Shield at Pittodrie. He would ultimately make only four appearances for Aberdeen before being sold back to Shamrock Rovers on 8 December 1932. He won two senior caps for the Irish Free State making his debut in a 2-0 friendly win against the Netherlands on 8 May 1932. Joe O'Reilly (footballer)
Joseph O'Reilly was an Irish international soccer player. O'Reilly was a half back and was capped 20 times for the Republic of Ireland at senior level. He made his debut against the Netherlands in a 2-0 victory in May 1932. O'Reilly opened the scoring in the game, while Paddy Moore scored the second. His final international game was in Bremen in 1939 in a 1-1 draw with Germany only months before the outbreak of World War II. O'Reilly, together with Paddy Moore and Jimmy Daly, was one of three Irish players who were signed by Aberdeen in the 1930s after their displays with the Irish national team for a combined fee of £1,000.
