Paddy Barry (St. Vincent's Hurler)
Patrick Barry (born 27 August 1941) is an Irish former hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Cork senior team. Born in The Lough area of Cork, Barry first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later joining the junior side. He made his senior debut during the 1963 championship. Barry immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen and won two All-Ireland medals, four Munster medals and four National Hurling League medals. The All-Ireland-winning captain of 1970, he was an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions. Barry was a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, however, he never won a Railway Cup medal. At club level he is a one-time championship medallist in the intermediate grade with St. Vincent's. Throughout his career Barry made 31 championship appearances. St Vincent's GAA (Cork)
St Vincent's Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Blarney Street and Sundays Well parts of Cork city, Ireland. It also includes in its catchment area Gurranabraher, Churchfield and Knocknaheeny. Teams are fielded in Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions and in Seandún board competitions. The greatest achievements in the club's history was winning the 1968 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship and the 2006 & 2012 Premier Intermediate Football Championship. As a result, they were promoted to senior status after both Premier Intermediate Football Championship wins but were not able to maintain senior status. Mick Cashman
Michael Cashman (1931 – 17 September 1988) was an Irish hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Cork senior team. Born in Blackrock, Cork, Cashman first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team before later joining the junior side. He joined the senior team during the 1951 championship. Cashman went on to enjoy a decade-long inter-county career and won two Munster medals and one National Hurling League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, Cashman won six Railway Cup medals. At club level he won two championship medals with Blackrock. His brother-in-law, Jimmy Brohan, was a contemporary on the Cork hurling team, while his sons, Tom and Jim, enjoyed All-Ireland success with Cork. All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship
The GAA Hurling Intermediate All-Ireland Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Intermediate Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Effectively contested by the second string teams of the top inter-county hurling sides in Ireland, the tournament has taken place every year since 1997—having originally been run between 1961 and 1973. The final, currently held in July, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during the early summer, and the results determine which team receives the Michael Cusack Cup. The All-Ireland Championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship, however, the qualification procedures for the championship have changed several times throughout its history. All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship
The All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship was a hurling competition organized by the Gaelic Athletic Association in Ireland. The competition was originally contested by the second teams of the strong counties, and the first teams of the weaker counties. In the years from 1961 to 1973 and from 1997 until now, the strong counties have competed for the All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship instead. The competition was then restricted to the weaker counties. The competition was discontinued after 2004 as these counties now compete for the Nicky Rackard Cup instead. From 1974 to 1982, the original format of the competition was abandoned, and the competition was incorporated in Division 3 of the National Hurling League. The Carlow County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coiste Ceatharlach) or Carlow GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Carlow and the Carlow county teams. The Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), or Kerry GAA, is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland. Munster Junior Hurling Championship
The Munster Junior Hurling Championship is a junior "knockout" competition in the game of Hurling played in the province of Munster in Ireland. The series of games are organised by the Munster Council. The winners of the Munster Junior Hurling Championship each year progress to play the other provincial champions for a chance to win the All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship. Generally, the strong hurling counties have fielded their second team in this competition. In recent years though, they have participated in the Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship instead. The competition has been suspended and is unlikely to be re-established. In the years between 1961 and 1973 Kerry represented Munster in the All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship. 1958 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship
The 1958 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 28th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 6 April 1958 and ended on 7 September 1958. Tipperary entered the championship as the defending champions in search of a fourth successive title, however, they were beaten by Limerick in the Munster quarter-final. On 7 September 1958 Limerick won the championship following a 5-8 to 3-10 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final. This was their second All-Ireland title and their first in 15 championship seasons.
