The Paddock-Hubbard House (now the Hubbard Memorial Museum) was built as a single-family home located at 317 Hanover Street in Concord, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. History Alfred Paddock was born in Litchfield, New York Litchfield, is a town in Herkimer County, New York, United States. He worked as a merchant in western New York before moving to Concord in the 1840s and opening a store there. In 1844, he purchased the lot that this house sits on, and likely constructed a small house at that time. Concord, Michigan
Concord is a village in Jackson County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,050 at the 2010 census. The village is within Concord Township. Settled in 1831, much of the village's downtown area is designated as part of the Concord Village Historic District. The village is located along M-60 about southwest of Jackson. History Concord first received a post office in 1836. It was incorporated as a village in 1871. The Michigan Historical Center operates a museum in Concord called the Mann House. The Mann House is an excellent example of typical middle-class domestic architecture of the early 1880s and features the family's sleigh and buggy as well as Jackson's Michigan State Prison made furniture. Greek Revival
The Greek Revival was an architectural movement which began in the middle of the 18th century but which particularly flourished in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, predominantly in northern Europe and the United States and Canada, but also in Greece itself following independence in 1832. It revived many aspects of the forms and styles of ancient Greek architecture, in particular the Greek temple, with varying degrees of thoroughness and consistency. A product of Hellenism, it may be looked upon as the last phase in the development of Neoclassical architecture, which had for long mainly drawn from Roman architecture. The term was first used by Charles Robert Cockerell in a lecture he gave as Professor of Architecture to the Royal Academy of Arts, London in 1842.
