Pacific Rugby Premiership
The Pacific Rugby Premiership (officially called the Samurai Sportswear Pacific Rugby Premiership for sponsorship reasons) is the highest level club rugby competition in the USA. It serves as the Division I league for the Pacific North Conference, but also includes one team from the Frontier Conference. It involves six teams from cities across the Western region and represents over 100 years of rugby history and heritage. The PRP had a short hiatus in 2017, but returned in 2018. Rugby union, commonly known simply as rugby, is a close-contact team sport that originated at Rugby School in the first half of the 19th century. One of the two codes of rugby football, it is based on running with the ball in hand. Santa Monica Rugby Club is a rugby union club from Santa Monica, California, United States. The club teams, known as the Dolphins, compete in the Southern California Rugby Football Union (SCRFU) a territorial union of USARugby, currently fielding teams in the following divisions: Division 2 (men), Division 1 (women), Division 3 (men), U18 boys, U16 boys, U14 boys, U12 boys, U10 coed, and U8 coed. Colorado Raptors
The American Raptors is a professional rugby union team based in the municipality of Glendale in Colorado. The team plays in the transcontinental Super Rugby Americas competition . Established as the Glendale Raptors in 2006, the team was a founding member of Major League Rugby in 2017, but they played there only three years, competing as the Colorado Raptors in their final shortened season of 2020 before withdrawing from the league. The Olympic Club RFC is a Pacific Rugby Premiership team based in San Francisco, California, and were the 2019 Division II USA national champions. Known as the OC, or the Winged 'O' ruggers, the rugby team was formed in 1908 under the wing of the San Francisco Olympic Club, an athletic club and private social club which had been founded in 1860. Denver Barbarians RFC
The Denver Barbarians Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team based in Denver, Colorado. The Denver Barbarians have won 3 national championships dating back to their first DI title in 1990. The club's second title came in 1999, during the height of the Rugby Super League, defeating Belmont Shore RFC 22-18. The Barbarians recently won the 2018 DII National Championship, defeating the Detroit Tradesmen in an all-time thriller at Infinity Park, 39-38. San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in San Francisco, California. SFGG's first side competes in the Northern California Rugby Football Union's Men's Division I, Women's Division II, and Pacific Rugby Premiership.
