Pablo Marcano García
Pablo Marcano García (born January 15, 1952, in Gurabo, Puerto Rico), is a Puerto Rican artist. He holds a bachelor's degree in social science (cum laude) from the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey. In 1975 he completed all his partial requirements for obtaining his Master's and Doctorate, simultaneously, in Political Science at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In January 1985, his book The Criminality and Crisis of Prisons in Puerto Rico was published, which has been used by prominent sociologists, criminologists, and jurists in the country's universities. At the age of 30, under the tutelage of one of our best graphic artists, Carlos Irizarry, he started in drawing and painting. He also receives guidance from African-American artists Jamil (Bryson Harris) and Rashid Wright. Isabel Rosado
Isabel Rosado (November 5, 1907 – January 13, 2015), a.k.a. Doña Isabelita, was an educator, social worker, activist and member of the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party. Influenced by the events of the Ponce massacre, Rosado became a believer of the Puerto Rican independence movement and was imprisoned because of her commitment to the cause. Early years Rosado (birth name: Isabel Rosado Morales was born in Barrio Chupacallos in the town of Ceiba, Puerto Rico to Simon Rosado and Petra Morales. Her father was a leader in the barrio and was often sought by the people of the barrio for his opinion on local matters regarding the community. A prisoner (also known as an inmate or detainee) is a person who is deprived of liberty against their will. This can be by confinement, captivity, or forcible restraint. The term applies particularly to serving a prison sentence in a prison. English law "Prisoner" is a legal term for a person who is imprisoned. In section 1 of the Prison Security Act 1992, the word "prisoner" means any person for the time being in a prison as a result of any requirement imposed by a court or otherwise that he be detained in legal custody. Danny Rivera (born 27 February 1945) is a singer and songwriter born in San Juan whose career spans nearly 50 years. He is well known in Puerto Rico for his political activism. Rafael Cancel Miranda (July 18, 1930 – March 2, 2020) was a poet, political activist, member of the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party and an advocate of Puerto Rican independence. On March 1, 1954, Cancel Miranda and three other Nationalists (Lolita Lebrón, Andrés Figueroa Cordero, and Irvin Flores Rodríguez) attacked the House of Representatives while it was in session at the United States Capitol building, firing 30 shots and injuring five congressmen. The four were arrested, convicted, and sentenced to long prison terms. In 1979, Cancel Miranda's sentence was commuted by United States President Jimmy Carter. Gurabo () is a town and municipality in eastern Puerto Rico. It is located in the central eastern region, north of San Lorenzo; south of Trujillo Alto; east of Caguas; and west of Carolina and Juncos.
