Pablo Lafontaine Rodríguez is a Puerto Rican politician from the New Progressive Party (PNP). Lafontaine served as member of the 22nd Senate of Puerto Rico from 2001 to 2005. Lafontaine was elected to the Senate of Puerto Rico in the 2000 general election. Lafontaine represented the District of Bayamón, along with Migdalia Padilla. The New Progressive Party ( es, Partido Nuevo Progresista, PNP) is a political party in Puerto Rico that advocates statehood. The PNP is one of the two major parties in Puerto Rico with significant political strength and currently holds both the seat of the governor and of the resident commissioner. Puerto Rico Senatorial District II, also known as the Senatorial District of Bayamón, is one of the eight senatorial districts of Puerto Rico. It is currently represented by Migdalia Padilla and Carmelo Ríos Santiago (both from the New Progressive Party). Migdalia Padilla Alvelo is a Puerto Rican politician and Senator. She has been a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico since 2000. Carmelo Javier Ríos Santiago (born May 21, 1973 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican politician, lawyer and senator. He has been a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico since 2005. Early years and studies Carmelo Ríos was born on May 21, 1973 in Santurce, Puerto Rico to Carmelo Ríos Nazario and Lydia Santiago Estrella.
