Pablo Kubli
Pablo Kubli (full name Pablo Estevez Kubli; born 1953) is a Mexican sculptor specializing in metals, a member of Mexico’s Salón de la Plástica Mexicana. He initially trained in law and public administration in college, completing bachelor’s and master’s in visual arts later in life. He has one doctorate from the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, Spain. He's been exhibiting individually since 1991, with most of his works consisting of steel plates and other pieces assembled with nuts and bolts with both organic and geometric forms. Life When he was a boy, he was interested in a number of things such as industrial objects, models and painting. He had two family members, Luciano and Humberto Kubli, who had studied at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda". Tlalpan
Tlalpan ( nci, Tlālpan, , place on the earth, ) is a borough (''demarcación territorial'') in Mexico City. It is the largest borough, with over eighty percent under conservation as forest and other ecologically sensitive area. The rest, almost all of it on the northern edge, has been urban since the mid-20th century. When it was created in 1928, it was named after the most important settlement of the area, Tlalpan, which is referred to as “Tlalpan center” (Tlalpan centro) to distinguish it from the borough. This center, despite being in the urbanized zone, still retains much of its provincial atmosphere with colonial era mansions and cobblestone streets. Alexander Calder (; July 22, 1898 – November 11, 1976) was an American sculptor known both for his innovative mobiles (kinetic sculptures powered by motors or air currents) that embrace chance in their aesthetic, his static "stabiles", and his monumental public sculptures. Calder preferred not to analyze his work, saying, "Theories may be all very well for the artist himself, but they shouldn't be broadcast to other people." Édgar Negret
Édgar Negret (October 11, 1920 – October 11, 2012) was a Colombian abstract sculptor. Life Negret was born in Popayán, Colombia. He attended the School of Fine Arts in Cali, Colombia, where he started his first studies in the year 1938 with the founder and teacher Jesus Maria Espinosa. Initially working in stone in styles reminiscent of European modernists like Jean Arp and Constantin Brâncuși. By the early 1950s, he began working in metal in constructivist tradition. In 1955, his art was acquired by the Museum of Modern Art. In 1963, he won the Salón de Artistas Colombianos, and therein became one of the most prominent Colombian sculptors of the 20th century. In 1968, he was awarded the David E. Bright Sculpture Prize, at the Thirty-fourth Venice Biennial. In 1985, the Museum Negret opened.
