Pablo Escudero Morales
Pablo Escudero Morales (born July 6, 1973) is a Mexican politician and lawyer, member of the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico (PVEM) and former federal deputy and senator. From 2016 to 2017, he served as President of the Senate of Mexico. Studies and professional career Pablo Escudero graduated with a law degree from the Universidad Anáhuac and a master's in public administration from the National Institute of Public Administration in Madrid, Spain. He began his career in public administration in 1997 as the coordinator of the program for responsibilities of public servants of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). After leaving in 2000, he returned to the IMSS the next year as private secretary to the comptroller. The president of the Senate (Spanish: ''Presidente de la Cámara de Senadores'') is the presiding officer of the Mexican Senate. The incumbent president is Senator Olga Sánchez Cordero. The Senate of Mexico, at the beginning of each annual legislative session, elects an executive board (Mesa Directiva) from among its 128 members. The executive board comprises a president, three vice-presidents, and four secretaries, elected by an absolute majority of the senators. The president, and other members of the executive board may be re-elected for the following year without restriction. The president of the executive board also serves as the President of the Senate. Manlio Fabio Beltrones Rivera (born August 30, 1952 in Villa Juárez, Sonora) is a Mexican economist and elected official, member of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) party, and a federal deputy since September 1, 2012. He was the president of the Senate during its 2006-2007 session and was reelected to that position for the 2010-2011 term. He served as governor of Sonora from October 22, 1991 to September 12, 1997. Proportional representation (PR) refers to a type of electoral system under which subgroups of an electorate are reflected proportionately in the elected body.
