''Pasavalai'' () is a 1956 Indian Tamil-language historical fantasy film, directed by A. S. Nagarajan produced by T. R. Sundaram of Modern Theatres, and written by Pa. Kannan. Music was composed by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy. It stars M. K. Radha, V. Gopalakrishnan, G. Varalakshmi, M. N. Rajam and Kumari Rajamani, with T. P. Muthulakshmi and A. Karunanidhi providing comic relief. The film was a moderate success at the box office. Plot A king is accused by his people of shielding his younger brother, who is after women. Touched to the quick, the king abandons his throne and walks out with his Queen and children. He wanders in the woods, looking for peace. The family gets separated. Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy
Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy were an Indian music composing duo composed of M. S. Viswanathan and T. K. Ramamoorthy. They worked together on over 100 films, from 1952's '' Panam'' to 1965's '' Aayirathil Oruvan''. After their split, Ramamoorthy worked on 16 films between 1966 and 1986. He and Viswanathan reunited in 1995 for ''Engirundho Vandhan''. Early lives Ramamoorthy Ramamoorthy, born into a well-known musical family in Trichy, was a capable violinist at an early age. His father (Krishnasamy Pillai) and grandfather, Malaikottai Govindasamy Pillai, were noted violinists in Trichy. As a child, Ramamoorthy performed several times with his father. Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram
Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram (13 April 1930 – 8 October 1959) also known as Pattukottaiyar was an Indian Tamil poet and lyricist. Considered to be the most popular Tamil lyricist of the 1950s, he is particularly remembered for the philosophy-tinged lyrics he penned for M. G. Ramachandran’s movies. Early life He was born on 13 April 1930 in an agricultural family at Sengapaduthankadu in Thamarankottai village, a village near the town of Pattukkottai. Modern Theaters Ltd was an Indian film studio in Salem, Tamil Nadu started by T. R. Sundaram Mudaliar in 1935. The studio produced over more than 150 films until 1982 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Sinhalese and even English of which Tamil were the majority. History In the early 1930s, T. R. Sundaram entered the world of Tamil cinema as a partner of a Salem-based film company, Angel Films. He was involved in productions such as ''Draupadi Vastrapaharanam'' (1934), Dhruva (1935) and Nalla Thangal (1935). Then he decided to start his own company, Modern Theatres Limited. Pillavalu Gajapathy Krishnaveni (3 November 1935 – 16 August 2004), more famously known as Jikki, was an Indian playback singer from Andhra Pradesh. She sang around 10,000 songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and Sinhalese languages. Early life Jikki was born in Chennai on 3 November 1935.
