PTT Thailand LPGA Masters
The Thailand LPGA Masters is a women's professional golf tournament to be held in Thailand. It was first played on the Thai LPGA Tour in 2013. In 2016, the tournament was co-sanctioned by the ALPG Tour. From 2017 to 2019, the tournament was co-sanctioned by both the China LPGA Tour and ALPG Tour. Prachuap Khiri Khan
Prachuap Khiri Khan ( th, ประจวบคีรีขันธ์, ) is a town in western Thailand. It is the capital of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province and is on the coast at one of the narrowest stretches in Thailand, only from the border with Myanmar at Dan Sing Khon in the Tenasserim Hills. The area has large pineapple and coconut industries, in addition to being popular with Thai tourists. The town is 291 km south of Bangkok by road. History Prachuap Khiri Khan is home to a Royal Thai Air Force base, and was an invasion point for Japanese troops on 8 December 1941, during World War II. A commemoration is held each December to honour the 38 Thai airmen and civilians who died in the fighting against the Japanese 143rd Infantry Regiment in the Battle of Prachuap Khiri Khan. The Thai LPGA Tour is a professional golf tour for women organized by the Thailand Ladies Professional Golf Association. Founded in 2008, the Thai LPGA Tour hosted 4-6 professional events per year from 2009 to 2012. In 2013, the tour got support from the Sports Authority of Thailand and private company sponsors to expand the tour to 8 competitions. From 2017 to 2019, the final event, Thailand LPGA Masters, was co-sanctioned with the ALPG Tour and China LPGA Tour and was given Women's World Golf Ranking points. In December 2022, Thai LPGA Tour announced the inclusion of the tour in the Women's World Golf Rankings The Women's World Golf Rankings, also known for sponsorship reasons as the Rolex Rankings, were introduced in February 2006. The WPGA Tour of Australasia, formerly known as the ALPG Tour, is a professional golf tour for women which is based in Australia. WPGA stands for Women's Professional Golfers' Association. The tour was founded as the Ladies Professional Golf Association of Australia (LPGAA) in 1972 by Alan Gillott, who also later on founded ''The Golfer'' newspaper, a free publication provided to golfers and golf clubs, Australia-wide. The LPGAA switched to ALPG Tour in 1991. The first events featured twelve competitors, and the early years were a struggle. However the long-term trend was of gradual expansion and by 2004 there were over 150 members. The season features about a dozen tournaments, usually played over the Australian summer between November and March. Zhang Weiwei (golfer)
Zhang Weiwei (born 15 March 1997) is a Chinese professional golfer and LPGA Tour player. She has five titles on the China LPGA Tour, including the 2019 Trust Golf Thailand LPGA Masters. Career Zhang was born in Hubei and started playing golf at 9 years old. She moved to Hainan and began playing on the China LPGA Tour (CLPGA) in 2015. In her rookie season, she was runner-up behind Babe Liu at the Zhuhai Classic, and tied for third at the Bank of Qingdao Golden Mountain Challenge. In 2017, she won her first title on the CLPGA, the Zhuhai Hengqin Phoenix Tree Building Challenge.
