The PSR-90 (Precision Sniper Rifle) is a Pakistani semi-automatic 7.62×51mm precision rifle designed and manufactured by Pakistan Ordnance Factories. It is used by the SSG commandos. Characteristics The PSR-90 Sniper rifle is considered a variant of the H&K PSG1. In the words of the manufacturer it has the accuracy of a sniper rifle and the firepower of a machine gun. It has a weight of 8.1 kg with an overall length of 1158 mm. It has a Polygonaly rifled barrel having length of 600 mm with a fully adjustable stock, the barrel is a four grooves right hand twisted barrel. Heckler & Koch PSG1
The Heckler & Koch PSG1 (''Präzisionsschützengewehr'', German for "precision shooting rifle") is a semi-automatic sniper rifle designed and produced by the German company Heckler & Koch. Development This rifle is said to have been developed in response to the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics. The West German police units at the time lacked the precision shooting capability to effectively neutralize the terrorists to prevent the hostages being killed. H&K was then commissioned to create a high-accuracy, large-magazine capacity, semi-automatic rifle for law enforcement and military use. Polygonal Rifling
Polygonal rifling ( ) is a type of gun barrel rifling where the traditional sharp-edged "lands and grooves" are replaced by less pronounced "hills and valleys", so the barrel bore has a polygonal (usually hexagonal or octagonal) cross-sectional profile. Polygonal riflings with a larger number of edges have shallower corners, which provide a better gas seal in relatively large diameter bores. The HMG PK-16 is a Pakistani belt-fed air-cooled gas-operated heavy machine gun designed and produced by the Pakistan Ordnance Factories. It was first unveiled on 23 November 2016 on the IDEAS defence exhibition inaugurated by both PM Nawaz Sharif and COAS Raheel Sharif and visited by Minister of Defence Khwaja Asif and MoDP Rana Tanveer Hussain.
