Midfielder
A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. Mbulelo Oldjohn Mabizela (born 16 September 1980) is a South African former professional footballer who played as a defender and sometimes as a midfielder. Club career Early professional career Mabizela was born in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. He started his career using his mother's surname ''Oldjohn'', but later preferred to be known as ''Mabizela'', the surname of his father, Dumisani, who also played soccer for AmaZulu. Mpho Gift Leremi (13 October 1984 – 3 September 2007) was a South African football midfielder who last played for Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premier Soccer League, and South Africa. Leremi died in a car crash on 3 September 2007 near Johannesburg, South Africa. Career Leremi was an offensive midfielder who began his career with the youth club Pimville Giants in Soweto, where he was born, and discovered by Orlando Pirates in 1999 at a local soccer tournament. Upon joining the Pirates development team, Augusto Palacios, the Pirates youth director, immediately recognized the talent in the player and took him under his wing. Golden Arrows
Lamontville Golden Arrows F.C. are a South African soccer club based in Durban that plays in the Premier Soccer League. History It was founded in 1943 in the streets of Lamontville, a township in Durban. The club played in the defunct National Professional Soccer League in the 1970s until they were relegated in 1976. They played in the Second Division thereafter until 1980 when they were embroiled in a soccer scandal and thrown out of the National Professional Soccer League. The team was formed again in 1996 when the Madlala family bought the Second Division franchise of Ntokozo FC and changed its name to Lamontville Golden Arrows. Papi Zothwane
Papi Zothwane (born 17 August 1981 in Bophelong, Gauteng) is a South African former soccer player who played as a midfielder. He is currently manager of Uthongathi. Personal Zothwane hails from Bophelong, a township near Vanderbijlpark. His younger brother Nhlanhla Zothwane is also a professional footballer.
