PPOPCON
The Pinoy Pop Convention (PPOPCON) is a music fan convention and concert intended to celebrate Pinoy pop music and culture annually. With its first edition held on April 9 and 10, 2022, it is the first and biggest event of its kind in the Philippines. The event was announced to take place two years after on-ground concerts had been halted by the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. The April 10 concert was the biggest entertainment event to take place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum since 2020. Background The PPOPCON was first announced on February 15, 2022 across their official social media platforms, announcing that the event aimed to gather P-pop fans and celebrate Pinoy pop culture and music. BGYO, also known during their pre-debut as Star Hunt Academy Boys or SHA Boys , is a five-member Filipino boy group that began formation in 2018 by ABS-CBN Star Hunt Academy and debuted in 2021 under ABS-CBN's Star Magic. Alamat ( Baybayin: ᜀᜎᜋᜆ᜔) is a Filipino boy group formed in 2020 by Viva Artist Agency and Ninuno Media. The group consists of six members: Taneo, Mo, Jao, Tomas, R-Ji and Alas. Originally a nine-piece ensemble, Kin departed the group in late March 2021 due to personal reasons, followed by Valfer and Gami, who also left in late March 2022. 4th Impact is a Filipino girl group composed of sisters Almira, Irene, Mylene and Celina Cercado. Press Hit Play is a Filipino boy band, consisting of CHRLS, Yuuki, JP, and Sev. They were formerly named Power House Philippines but with a mononym of PHP. The group was originally formed in 2018 but disbanded, then reformed three years later in 2021.
