Provincial Assembly Of Punjab
The Provincial Assembly of the Punjab is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the Pakistani province of Punjab, which is located in Lahore, the provincial capital. It was established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan, having a total of 371 seats, with 297 general seats, 66 seats reserved for women and 8 reserved for non-Muslims. Site history The 2-story Assembly Chamber, residential hostels, and expansive lawns cover on the Shahrah-e-Quaid-Azam (the Mall). After it was completed in 1935, the Assembly Chamber housed the Assembly for the Punjab province. Lalian Tehsil
Lalian Tehsil ( ur, ) is a tehsil of the Chiniot District and a city in Punjab, Pakistan. It is located on Sargodha road, 22 km from Chiniot. It became a tehsil of Chiniot District on 2 February 2009. Prior to this, it was a known as town in the Chiniot Tehsil and now with the addition of 12 more union councils it has become a Tehsil with a large amount of population in towns and villages. Chiniot District
Chiniot District ( Punjabi and ur, ), became the 36th district of the Punjab province of Pakistan in February 2009. Before this, it was a tehsil of Jhang District. History Chiniot region was an agricultural region with forests during the Indus Valley civilization. The Vedic period is characterized by Indo-Aryan culture that migrated from Central Asia and settled in Punjab region. The Kambojas, Daradas, Kaikayas, Madras, Pauravas, Yaudheyas, Malavas and Kurus invaded, settled and ruled ancient Punjab region. After overrunning the Achaemenid Empire in 331 BCE, Alexander marched into present-day Punjab region with an army of 50,000. The Chiniot region was ruled by Maurya Empire, Indo-Greek kingdom, Kushan Empire, Gupta Empire, White Huns, Kushano-Hephthalites and Shahi kingdoms. PP-97 Faisalabad-I () is a Constituency of Provincial Assembly of Punjab. Election 2013, Azad Ali Tabassum of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) won the seat of MPA from PP – 51 FAISALABAD I by collecting 39, 676. Muhammad Ajmal Cheema of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf place second by taking 22,342 votes in PP – 51 FAISALABAD I. For 2018 General elections the new constituencies were made and PP-51 was named as Gujranwala-1. In 2018, General Elections Shaukat Manzoor Cheema of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) won the seat and became the member of Provisional Assembly of Punjab. Due to the demise of PML-N parliamentarian the seat was vacant and a by-election was conducted on 19th February 2021 in which Tallat Mehmood of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) won the election by securing 53,903 votes.
