Provincial Assembly Of Punjab
The Provincial Assembly of the Punjab is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the Pakistani province of Punjab, which is located in Lahore, the provincial capital. It was established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan, having a total of 371 seats, with 297 general seats, 66 seats reserved for women and 8 reserved for non-Muslims. Wagha
Wagah ( ur, ) or Wagha (Shahmukhi pnb, ) is a village and union council (UC 181) located in the Wahga Zone near Lahore City District, Pakistan. The town is famous for the Wagah border ceremony and also serves as a goods transit terminal and a railway station between Pakistan and India. Wahga is situated west of the border and lies on the historic Grand Trunk Road between Lahore and Amritsar in India. The border is located from Lahore and from Amritsar. It is also from the bordering village of Attari, India. The Wagah ceremony takes place every evening. Barki, Pakistan
Barki ( pa, ), or Burki, is a village in Lahore District of Punjab, Pakistan near the city of Lahore. It is located near the border with Punjab, India. Before the partition of India in 1947, it joined through Harikey Road. It is about 11 kilometers from Allama Iqbal International Airport. It is on the bank of Bambawali-Ravi-Bedian Canal. It gives its name to the Battle of Burki, which took place during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. It is a centre of education for the border belt. Malik Meraj Khalid, former Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan and Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, founded Anjuman Ikhwan-e-Islam in 1939 and later on Ikhwan school and college in the village.
