The ''PFL 2'' mixed martial arts event for the 2022 season of the Professional Fighters League was held on April 28, 2022, at the Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington, Texas. This was the second regular season event of the tournament and included fights in the Heavyweight and Featherweight divisions. Background The event was headlined by a heavyweight bout between the 2021 champion Bruno Cappelozza and UK regional veteran Stuart Austin. The co-main featured a featherweight bout between Brendan Loughnane and Shooto veteran Ryoji Kudo. The remaining two fights of the main card saw heavyweight finalist Ante Delija face off against Matheus Scheffel, while the Renan Ferreira faced off against Jamelle Jones. Bubba Jenkins was scheduled to face Sung Bin Jo at this event. However, after Jo Sungbin pulled out of the bout, he was replaced by Kyle Bochniak. Professional Fighters League
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is an American mixed martial arts league founded by venture capitalist Donn Davis in 2017 and launched in 2018, following the acquisition and restructuring of the former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) promotion in 2017 by MMAX Investment Partners. It is the first major MMA organization in which individual athletes compete in a regular season, post-season and championship, rather than on a year-round basis. The PFL currently puts on fights across six weight-divisions: featherweight, women's lightweight, lightweight, welterweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight. The PFL's matches are held inside a 10-sided mixed martial arts cage known as the SmartCage, and adhere to the unified rules of mixed martial arts, with the exception of the prohibition of elbow strikes. Sheymon da Silva Moraes (born October 11, 1990) is a Brazilian mixed martial artist (MMA) who competes in the Featherweight division of Professional Fighters League. Young and up-and-coming male and female MMA prospects will compete for a slot in the PFL tournament season and a chance at $1 million.
