PFFR
PFFR is a Brooklyn-based production company and art collective consisting of Vernon Chatman, John Lee, Alyson Levy and formerly Jim Tozzi until 2009. The group has been active since 1998. Work The group's portfolio of work includes two albums, one 7-inch EP and one download-only EP (plus a string of live performances as a band), various art exhibits such as ''An Attack On All Americans or the Tyranny Of Weed'' shown at the LFL Gallery in New York and the script for the film ''Final Flesh''. In 2010, they held an exhibition/video screening of a selection of their work entitled ''PFFR Presents Legacy IIX'' which took place at the Synchronicity Space in Los Angeles, CA between April 3 and May 1. PFFR are also active in television comedy. They wrote, directed, produced and starred in the MTV2 variety show ''Wonder Showzen'' (2005–2006) and the Adult Swim CGI series '' Xavier: Renegade Angel''. Wonder Showzen
''Wonder Showzen'' is an American adult sketch comedy television series that aired between 2005 and 2006 on MTV2. It was created by Vernon Chatman and John Lee of PFFR. Described as a children's television series for adults, the show's format is a parody of educational PBS children's television shows such as ''Sesame Street'' and ''The Electric Company'' (e.g. use of stock footage, puppetry, and clips of children being interviewed). In addition to general controversial comedy, it satirizes politics, religion, war, sex and culture with black comedy. ''Xavier: Renegade Angel'' is an American adult computer-animated television series created by Vernon Chatman and John Lee, who are also the creators of ''Wonder Showzen''. The show was produced by PFFR, with animation by Cinematico. It premiered on November 4, 2007, on Adult Swim and November 1, 2007, on the Adult Swim website. The Problem Solverz
''The Problem Solverz'' is an American animated television series that aired on Cartoon Network. Created by Ben Jones, it follows Alfe, Roba, and Horace; a group of detectives in their troubled town, Farboro. The aforementioned characters were designed while Jones attended college in the 1990s; he later founded the art collective Paper Rad with Jessica and Jacob Ciocci. The characters were featured in Jones' and the collective's animations and comics before the creator pitched a pilot to Adult Swim featuring the trio. The network's executives referred Jones to Cartoon Network, who commissioned a series featuring the same characters. Vernon Chatman
Vernon Chatman (born October 31, 1972) is an American television producer, writer, voice actor, stand-up comedian, musician and a member of PFFR, an art collective based in Brooklyn, New York City. He created the television series ''Wonder Showzen'', '' Xavier: Renegade Angel'', ''The Heart, She Holler'' and ''The Shivering Truth''. He also produces and voices characters for ''South Park''. Early life Chatman was born in Brooklyn, New York. He is of mixed race, half Euro-American and half African-American. Chatman attended San Francisco State University, from which he graduated in 1994. John Lee (producer)
John Michael Lee (born November 30, 1972) is an American television producer, writer, director, voice actor, and musician best known for his work on the MTV2 comedy series ''Wonder Showzen'' as a member of the rock band/art collective PFFR. Career Lee is long time friends with fellow PFFR member and television producer Vernon Chatman. They met as undergraduates at San Francisco State University. Along with Chatman, Lee is the co-creator, writer, director and star of ''Wonder Showzen''. He voices Wordsworth, one of the main puppet characters and provides various other voices on the show. The pair also co-created Snoop Dogg's 2002 MTV sketch show '' Doggy Fizzle Televizzle''. James Michael Tozzi (born October 19, 1967) is an American artist, commercial director, producer, voice actor and musician best known for his work on the MTV2 comedy series ''Wonder Showzen'' and the Adult Swim show '' Xavier: Renegade Angel'' and as a member of the rock band/art collective PFFR. Bio Jim Tozzi grew up in Everett, a city to the north of Boston. The most distinctive thing about this town was the smell of freshly roasted peanuts due to the Teddie Peanut Butter factory. ''Doggy Fizzle Televizzle'' was a sketch comedy show that was produced by and starred rapper Snoop Dogg. It aired on MTV in 2002 until 2003. Snoop Dogg stated that according to the contract, the show was to air six times, but was later extended to eight episodes.
