PEAC-Pécs
PEAC-Pécs is the first-class women basketball team of Pécs, Hungary. The team started in the Hungarian Championship division A in 2012/2013 season. Beside the Hungarian Championship the team also attending the Hungarian Cup and the MŽRKL WABA League, commonly known as the Adriatic League, is a top-level regional basketball league, featuring female teams from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Croatia. Lauber Dezső Sports Hall
The Lauber Dezső Sports Hall is a sports hall in Pécs named after Dezső Lauber. This is the home of both Hungarian Championship A participant women's and men's basketball team of the city: PEAC-Pécs and PVSK-Pannonpower (and was the home of the former women's basketball club Pécs 2010.) It hosted the EuroBasket 1997 Women group stage and EuroLeague Women 2003–04 final four. Besides sport events, it also hosts other type of events. Mostly Hungarian performers have concerts, but international performers like Gilbert Bécaud have hit the stage. WABA League, commonly known as the Adriatic League, is a top-level regional basketball league, featuring female teams from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Croatia. Clubs from Austria, Turkey, Hungary and Italy had their representatives in WABA League in past seasons. Since 2012 a Cadet WABA League and since 2014 Pionir WABA League is also played. History Formation and early years WABA League was established in 2001 as EWWL League. In its first season it included six teams from four countries (Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina). After the regular season, it held a tournament in which the three best teams played, which was won by Athlete Celje. Next season the league expanded from six to eight teams, and the final tournament was altered so that the placement included the four top teams.
